About Patty DiRienzo

After more than a decade working as a photojournalist for newspapers, magazines and photo agencies Patty shifted her talent for storytelling from the newsroom to the the neighborhoods. Her natural style of photography along with a sincere interest in each person's story jumpstarted a successful lifestyle photography business.

Patty also pursued her interest in hand crafted photography methods by becoming skilled at the classic art of hand coloring as well as Polaroid image transfer. A sense of time and place is central to her work and both techniques lend a vintage feel to present day images -- blurring the line between past and present. You'll find her work exhibited in galleries, museums and private homes.

The recipient of a Florida Humanities grant, Patty authored and photographed
Florida ~A Journey Through its Colorful Past, a coffee-table book celebrating folksy'Old Florida' landmarks using image transfers and firsthand narratives.

A fan of the great outdoors, Patty was named Artist-in-Residence at Grand Canyon National Park followed by residencies at Petrified Forest National Park and the North Cascades Institute. These unique opportunities offered Patty the freedom to work on independent projects in places of stunning beauty while sharing her images with travelers from around the world.
